Stan Campbell
Show Host
Stan was born in the back of an 18
wheeler on ferry boat on the way to Nova Scotia
and
spent most of his life on the road. Stan
started out as an electronics
technician but after several high-voltage shocks he found he kept
skipping number 7 when counting to 10.
While as a tech he was
cleared to Top Secret by the US Air
Force, which Stan says was kind of
funny because he's a big mouth. However thanks to the earlier
shocks he couldn't remember anything
anyway.
Other than a lot of appearances in
Judge Judy's court, most of his life though was
spent in radio, everywhere from St
John's Newfoundland to Los Angeles. (draw
a line between those two
cities...it's a long long way) Stan's connection to country music
is deep, having been a country radio
personality in Toronto, Nashville
and LA and for a time a record
producer in Nashville. He says "I
was a critical success and a
financial failure". One of the
more notable artists that Stan
produced was a young Eilleen Twain
who has also moved a lot. At least
Stan didn't change his name.
Stan says
"we don't talk much (at all) anymore". He
does go on to say "Nashville
feels more like home than just about
any other place I've run away from."
The Trucking Show came out
of nowhere. Stan says "like some
trucking shows, we don't pretend to
be good ole boy hardened roadhammers. We simply
play music, present news and
entertainment for everyone who
drives for a living...and that's a
lot of people. Seriously, I have immense
respect for the drivers who work
long hours and must be away from
their loved ones for extended
periods of time. My son does it. I don't know if I
could do it".
Stan and Tim are old friends, each
with a history in radio and the
music business.

Tim Denis
Co-host, RoadNews & Info
Tim is a Niagara guy who has spent
the better part of his life in radio
and on the stages. Yes, we
mean stages...plural. Tim is
an actor and a recording artist
having spent a
great deal of time on theatre stages
and many nights performing on
postage-stamp sized stages in smoky
bars. Tim's English background
sometimes shows up on the air with
words like schedule (pronounced like
shed-yule). His acting, directing
and producing experience are evident
as well in his humor and timing. (oh
by the way, that's his real hair)
Unlike Stan, Tim has lived all of
his life in southern Ontario with
Nashville often on his tour
schedule... sorry...shedyule.
Tim recorded two albums with Stan in
Nashville and in fact sang a duet
with Shania Twain. That was the 19
year old Shania. Stan says "Tim
was a hard guy to
produce. He
always wanted to do the high parts"
Besides being Trucker Radio's
Entertainment, Industry News and Events
Reporter and Stan's show partner,
Tim also hosts a daily talk show on
radio and is a weekly panelist on
TV. In addition to getting up at
4:30 AM to do his radio show he also
often moonlights late at night as an
actor, director and producer in live
theatre. For a short while was a
theatre
usher but he was fired when he kept
shining his flashlight in the
patron's eyes while they were
watching the performance.
If
being an actor, morning radio guy
and sheep-herder doesn't keep him busy enough,
six daughters occupy the rest of his
time! SIX! Most of his time is
occupied trying to get into the
bathroom.
Stan &
Tim have been hosting the Canadian
Trucking Radio Show for about three
years. With the success of this show
and the launch of American Driver
Radio, Tim (with his English
background) has high hopes for the
debut of the British Lorry Show.
(Don't hold your breath Tim)

Candy Valentine
Music City Updates
Candy, like
Stan - has been around! In addition to
having been in radio for more years than
she'd care to mention, she's been a Tuxedo
Sales Person, a Writer, an Actor, a Truck
Accessories Sales Person, a Finance Manager
at a Mack Truck shop, a Singer and a Direct
Care Worker for Persons with Disabilities.
She embraced the world of radio when she
attended Broadcast College and was taught
almost every thing she needed to know by the
wise Saul Jacobson, who is more her life
coach as opposed to being just her radio
instructor.
Candy lives
to help people feel good, because when you
break it all down and peel away the layers,
we're all the same. And when we feel good
then good stuff happens.
She is a
proud mother of a beautiful teenage daughter
and loves her many friends and all of her
family. And, she is so grateful to have
found a best friend to share her life
with...finally! Life is good and it gets
better and better every day.
For now, she
loves to be part of a show that is heard all
over the world! "It's a dream come true!"
says Candy, "I love music, and Country Music
has a special place in my heart. Song
writers of Country Music can evoke such
strong emotion. They can bring one to tears
or peals of laughter."
Stan and
Candy have worked together in the past and
have become great friends, and she is so
thrilled to be part of the Road and the
Radio TEAM! |
